The beginning

• 1953   Founded as a toolmaker for goldsmiths & later for plastic products
• 1968  First production of glass aquarium with plastic frame
• 1973   Move the new premises, Ringlaan in Heule, which is still the actual location of our head offices and plastic production
• 1990-1999   Expansion of our plastic accessory range and warehouse by acquiring the neighbouring plot.
• 1999-2001   Acquisition of Goldnest, a local wire cage manufacturer and opening of our new cage facility of 6.300 m².
• 2003  Acquisition of neighbouring plot of 11.000 m² and reorganization as extra warehouse.
• 2011   Opening of new offices at Ringlaan and extra production and warehouse capacity.
• 2021   Construction of new warehouse of 4.000 m², good for 10.000 pallets.

Today

Today, Savic is one of the top manufacturers of plastic accessories and metal cages for pets. We are located in Belgium and are operating in more than 80 countries worldwide. The company is still owned by the Doornaert-Savic family and is currently in its 3rd generation.

Savic is and will remain firmly anchored in Belgium. Besides the 2 hi-tech factories, all commercial, service-related and operational activities are also managed entirely from the Kortrijk region. Or how Belgian quality is taking the world by storm….
